Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 June 2026 · Effective: 13 June 2026

1. Short version

Making Invoice is a free invoice generator. All data you enter stays in your browser (localStorage). We do not run a backend, do not require signup, and do not collect your invoice contents.

2. What we store

  • Theme preference (light/dark) — stored in your browser's localStorage as theme.
  • Invoice draft (business name, client name, line items, notes) — stored in localStorage so the page survives a refresh. The draft is bound to your browser only; clearing site data deletes it.
  • Uploaded logo — stored as a base64 data URL in localStorage. The file never leaves your device.

We do not have a server-side database of user data.

3. What we do not do

  • No analytics (no Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, etc.).
  • No tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no third-party cookies set by us.
  • No advertising, no ad networks.
  • No account system, no email collection, no newsletter.

4. Hosting & infrastructure

The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard HTTP request logs (IP, User-Agent, requested URL) for the purpose of serving the site and detecting abuse. Vercel's privacy policy applies to that data: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

The domain makinginvoice.com is managed via Cloudflare DNS. Cloudflare may process DNS queries and proxy traffic according to their privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

5. Cookies

We do not set any cookies. The site uses localStorage for the items listed in §2; these are not transmitted to any server.

6. Children's privacy

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Your rights

Since no personal data is stored on our servers, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. To clear everything from your browser, open your browser's site data settings for makinginvoice.com and choose "Clear data".

8. Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the new policy.
