Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 June 2026 · Effective: 13 June 2026

1. Acceptance

By using Making Invoice (the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is

Making Invoice is a free, browser-based invoice generator. You fill in business, client, and line item fields, and the Service produces a printable/PDF/downloadable invoice. The Service is a tool, not a tax advisor or accounting service. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legal sufficiency of every invoice you create or send.

3. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the output will meet your legal or tax requirements in any jurisdiction.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Making Invoice and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or tax penalties, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law (typically the amount you have paid us, which is zero, since the Service is free).

5. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the content of the invoices you generate (business name, tax IDs, amounts, dates, etc.).
  • You are responsible for compliance with the tax, invoicing, and bookkeeping laws of your jurisdiction (e.g. making tax digital, sequential invoice numbering, retention periods).
  • You agree not to use the Service to produce fraudulent, misleading, or illegal invoices.
  • You agree not to attempt to disrupt the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or use it to attack other systems.

6. Intellectual property

The Service' source code, design, and branding are owned by Making Invoice. You retain full ownership of the invoice content you create. We do not claim any rights over your invoices.

7. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time without notice. We may also discontinue the Service entirely. If we discontinue the Service, we will make a reasonable effort to post a notice on this domain at least 30 days in advance (though we are under no obligation to do so).

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change. Continued use of the Service after a change indicates acceptance of the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
